Hello. Nice to meet you.
I’m Steve, a motion designer and Jack of all trades from the UK, now living in Hamburg. I bring stories to life with 2D animation, but sometimes I play in design, illustration, web and interactive too. I provide services on a freelance basis both direct to clients and as support for agencies.
You can find me on Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn too, if you’re that way inclined.
What can I do for you?
If you’ve got a story to tell, an idea to explain, a product to sell or a presentation to jazz up, animation is a great way to get the right message to the right audience. I’ve worked on explainer videos, data visualisation, music videos, educational materials, web graphics and visuals for TV. If it moves, I can make it.
I don’t just stop at animation. With over 10 years in graphic design under my belt, I can help you with a range of other design services including:
- Logo and branding design
- Design for print (including brochures, posters and flyers)
- Web design (WordPress themes), hosting and management
- Voice over recording
- Illustration and character design
If it’s not on the list, please do still get in touch. If I can’t help then I’ll know someone who can!
How does it work?
Each job I work on is unique, and what I can do for you will depend on your needs. But typically, a full job involves the following steps:
How much does it cost?
The great thing about animation is it can be super flexible. Whatever your budget, I can work to it. I charge £275/€300 per day for my services; the more complex the job, the longer it takes. It’s not really possible to say how long a job will take until I know more about it, but as a rough guide, here’s some ideas…
Animated logo/intro: 1-2 days (or less)
A short (10 second) animated logo or intro for use on YouTube videos or social content. If you can provide the logo in vector format, I can bring it to life.
Simple animated presentation: 2-4 days
Animated text, transitions and graphics for each slide, including voice over and soundtrack.
1-2 minute explainer animation: 3-5 days
With more complex animation, dynamic scenes and a variety of illustrated visuals.
Character animation: 7-14 days (or more)
Character animation takes a lot more work; design, rigging, and a whole load of fine tuning to get that natural flow.
The best way to find out how much your animation might cost is to get in touch. I’d be happy to chat with you and let you know what options are available.
